Free PDF Compressor helps you compress your PDF documents for free. This service comes in handy when you want to decrease your PDF file’s size.

Why Compress a PDF File?

A PDF file can be compressed for a variety of reasons. Generally, PDF files aren’t that large. But if they run into hundreds of pages and have multiple images within, the file size could go up exponentially. The problem with large files is that they are slow to open. They are also not easy to share or transfer. Computers with limited storage space would have a hard time accommodating such PDFs on disk. When you reduce PDF file size using Free PDF Compressor, all of the things that aren’t possible with a large PDF file become possible. Moreover, small PDFs are easier to load on mobile phones.

Compression Settings

The Free PDF Compressor tool supports five compression settings. These are set according to the end use of the compressed file. In other words, the resolution and image settings are different for screens and eBooks. These requirements could do with low and medium-resolution compressed outputs. But high-quality PDF compressing is needed for printers and pre-press. This high-quality compressing also makes sure the original colour scheme of the PDF file is maintained. For the lowest quality, set the compression mode to “screen”. For high-quality compression, you must set the level to “pre-press”. Kindly note some PDF files would turn out large with the “screen” setting.
